1.11.12 Track Layout

- New website for Boulder City track, www.southernnevadarc.com! Practice and Racing on Saturdays, get those nitro cars ready.

SNVRC (formerly Sin City RC) is a RC racing club with racers from Las Vegas and surrounding areas. We currently hold races at the Boulder City RC Speedway on the off-road track. The tracks size is app. 140×125 perfect for 1/8 scale nitro cars and 1/10 4wd SCT’s. It has hosted the Silver State Nitro Challenge several times. The facility is top notch and we will try and make it better. Good things are on the horizon, a new year, a new name, a new site, and a new direction - amen!!

- 1/1/2012 HAPPY NEW YEAR! Short course enduro race was 2 hours of exciting racing action. 6 teams of 3 drivers took on the 2 hour short course enduro race. Teams were Bump Up, Ptown Boys, Da Kine, Hit n Run, SFU, and Old Guys. Everyone had so much fun, including our spectators that we will be running another one very soon. Thanks to everyone that came out to enjoy the kickoff to another fun year of racing at 702!

Once the race started the first 10-15mins made for some tight racing action with Team Bump Up slowly pulling away. First team that needed mechanical repairs was the Ptown Boys, the first hour of the race these guys spent more time in the pits than on the track which gave them 6th place and only a 117 laps. (We love these guys so we give them a hard time)

Team Bump Up had a strong lead for the first half of the race till their truck started to go down with mechanical issues, first a broken front shock, then they lost 4wd, then they lost 2 tires (Travis can’t glue). Team Bump Up’s truck will need some major repairs after the enduro. Truck finished with a broken shock, no functional 4wd, 4 rims but only 3 tires, haha! Dark horse team Da Kine then the lead and were at one point out to a decent lead, that slowly went away as the diff bolt broke on their truck in the last 20 mins of the race.

Old Guys Team

The winning team was SFU, these guys kept the pace steady and consistent for the entire 2 hours. Team consisted of driver Max, Toni, and Torre. They ended up taking the win by 34 laps, 245 laps total in 2hr 12mins. Key was this team had no major mechanical issues. Winning team drivers got a free race/practice certificate. Congratulations guys!

Final Results: 1st place SFU 245 laps, 2nd place OLD GUYS 211 laps, 3rd place HIT N RUN 204 laps, 4th place DA KINE 197 laps, 5th place BUMP UP 182 laps, 6th place PTOWN BOYS 117 laps.

- Racer that brought in the most toys this year and also last year winner Oscar Spratley (Sunrise Group Companies). This year Oscar brought in 176 toys!!! Thanks Oscar for the generous toy donation. Oscar won a plaque, short course body (ProLine), set of short course tires (ProLine), and a EDGE speed control (Novak).

- Youngster Shea Olson, 5 years old came down to spectate with dad and won a RC18B2 (Thanks Team Associated). Shea would like to thank Steve Antill who was the winner of the RC18B2 and gave the buggy to the first spectator that came in the hobby store that was just there to watch and didn’t already have a car. Youngster Shea was happy and we will be seeing him in the novice class racing here soon!

- 12/2/11 What an awesome week #5 of the Dialed Tekin Airtronics series. The start of our action packed weekend of racing. 3 days of racing in a row, Friday, Saturday and Sunday this weekend. - 11/20/11 Sunday Mark and Jake (4 yrs old) won our famous Tandem Race. They won 4 Free tickets to the Motor Trend Auto Show.

- 702 RC Raceway representing at the Lucas Oil Off Road Race this past weekend. Great seeing all of the 702 racers at the LVMS, I know many of you got tickets from the awesome Associated promotion for 702 racers. (Special thanks to Team Associated)

- 11/5/11 What an awesome race night we had! Special thanks to Losi, Spektrum, and Horizon Hobby. To kick things off we had the real short course truck on display, Stronghold Pro2. Autograph, meet and greet session with 5 off road drivers, Rob Fig Naughton, Brandon Bailey, Jimmy Stephensen, Sean Geiser, and Nicole Johnson. Following the autograph session we had a Lucas Oil Celebrity race between the 5 drivers who were driving replica vehicles, winning the celebrity race was Sean Geiser.

*Also racing with us tonight was Adam Drake, Ronda Drake, Kevin Gahan, and Richard Trujillo. Local racers were in for a big treat tonight with some fierce qualifying action with some of the top drivers.

*Raffle prizes were given out by Losi, Spektrum, and Horizon Hobby. Also racing with us tonight was Craig Kaplan from Airtronics who also gave away some great raffle prizes.
